Not sure about soft-start devices, but variable speed and inverter devices definitely give Sense challenges, mainly because their on/off transitions tend to be longer ramps and are less well defined. As for EV charging, it’s still and model-by-model world. I’m lucky because my Model S and Model 3 are both detected pretty consistently in spite of Tesla software updates that sometimes change the charging profile. But realize that that’s not the same for all TVs or homes.
