Question on Settings options - push notification

This should be an easy question to answer. The terminology used in the Settings options for “Push Notifications” in My Account -> Notifications is not clear as to what it does. Can someone share what they think it does? I’m new to Sense, but not to technology and the word “Push” can mean many things from where I come from.

Thanks in advance,

@Fred_W on my iPhone the push notification means that a pop-up will be displayed as soon as it happens. For example, I have a notification for my A/C for every time it comes on and turns off. As soon as it happens I get a sound on my phone along with a message saying A/C has turned on.

Same principle for new devices found and other notifications.

I hope this helps.
