Peter Vanderminden, is a widely recognized thought leader, speaker and writer on the “Internet of Things” (IoT) and digital supply chain management practices. He was Professor of Practice and Executive-in-Residence at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Center for Supply Networks & Analytics, Lally School of Management, Troy, NY and he also represented RPI’s School of Engineering to the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC). Formerly, he was the Industry Manager, Manufacturing & Supply Chain at Microsoft. He also served as the Principal Industry Analyst for IoT & Digital Supply Chain to Flatiron Strategies LLC where he advised investment banking and alternative investment funds on the IoT industry.

He served on the Board of Directors for APICS (2014-2015) and the Supply Chain Council (2012-2014). He holds an MBA, with Distinction, from Leeds University, Leeds, UK; a BS in Communications Science from RPI, Troy, NY and a post-graduate certificate in System Dynamics from MIT, Cambridge, MA. A Six Sigma Master Black Belt (MBB), his career spans 35 years of working in supply chain management, transportation, financial services, health/life sciences and computer software industries and has worked at companies such as Microsoft, JP Morgan Chase, General Electric, UPS and Pitney Bowes/MapInfo.
