Is there a way to label devises when turning on and you know what they are before it gets a bubble?
It sounds like youâre asking if you can explicitly tell Sense when a device is running. Unfortunately, that is not an option at this time. Check out these threads to learn more about 1), why itâs tough and 2) other ways you can help.
So why canât you âtrainâ Sense? We get this question a lot and on the surface it seems reasonable: Sense looks at the signature of devices in order to detect them consistently in your home, so it should follow that if you turn off everything in your home except for a single device (or turn said device on and off repeatedly), Sense should be able to properly identify that device in isolation and then continue to look for it in the future. Unfortunately, itâs not that simple.
Itâs not a matter ofâŚ
Even without native detections, Sense can still prove incredibly useful towards saving money in your home. The Power Meter is a fantastic tool that provides a real-time view of your energy consumption. If you want to know how much a device in your home is consuming, but Sense hasnât discovered it yet, just open up the Power Meter and turn it off the next time it runs. You should see a big drop. You can do the same for the âAlways Onâ devices in your home, identifying how much theyâre costing youâŚ
