New WiFi...connectivity issue

@dolfs , thanks for your extensive analysis. I have a similar hardwired Unifi setup to the one you describe (albeit with only one WiFi 7 access point, and the other 4 either 5 or 6), and have virtually no issues with WiFi. Similarly, my previous setup was all Apple gear, using basestations in bridge mode as access points, and that worked extremely well too, without interruptions.

After being relatively stable this week, my Sense went offline twice today alone. I do not have a fancy setup with wifi 6/7 on my 2.4 ghz network. I specifically disabled ax for my 2.4 ghz network for better backwards compatibility with cheaper / old school radios used by IoT. None of my other 2.5 ghz devices are dropping - only Sense.

I went ahead and disabled Trend’s AIProtection in my router, even though it reported no events, so I’ll see if that helps.

Sorry for the double post, but it’s been stable for me this past week. Anyone with an Asus router, this is what I tweaked:

  • Disable AI Protection
  • Disable WiFi Agile Multiband
  • Disable 802.11ax / WiFi 6 mode (I use this on the 5ghz network but keep it off on 2.4 for IoT compatibility)

These are my 2.4 Ghz settings:

Update: This went offline once or twice since my last post, but nothing crazy. As long as I fully power cycled my router, it usually reconnects in 1-2 tries.

Now here’s an interesting thing. Who knows if this was a firmware bug in Asus: I’m trying it out and will see if it becomes even more reliable

Yup ASUS Router here, terrible network drops recently!

had team green for over 5 years, rock solid , up untill the app change, so i purchased a orangge. got it swapped yesterday, same everything, and seeing tons of disconnects in the graph, and the rest… sigh… no idea where to start with this.. sent a request to support, and gave them permission to look at data.. anyone have any ideas or tips ?? omada network, controller, couple access points, same as its been for years.. no changes there.. tempted to toss the green back on to see how it acts, but that app is useless in comparison..

good thing is i have till the end of january for a full refund.. (sorry, have no idea how to create a new post, so have to piggy back on this one.. )

sigh, cant include a photo or link, so guess this wont be much help..

** I created a sense test ssid, 2.4 only, 1 access point, signal is 100% at -35db, snr at 60. I’ll see how that does, was easy enough to try**

since my other post is in limbo waiting … i’ll give this a day to see how it is..

Hi Joel,

This monitor is connected to WiFi right now, and after review it looks like this unit has a piece of failing hardware. If you bought this from Amazon the thing to do would be to exchange this with them as a defective unit. The install date for this unit was only a few days ago so I’m assuming you are still in the return window. If they request any further information about this let me know and I can provide it.
