I have 7 Wemo light switches and 1 Wemo plug and I have the wemo detection turned on in my Sense app but have yet to detect any devices. Does the wemo detection only work on plugs and does it only work with the insight plugs? I feel like integrating with the wemo light switches would be a logical next step because while the plugs can be moved and devices switched, light switches would likely be tied to the same devices all of the time.
Only with Wemo Insight plugs. All covered in the announcement as well as an explanation as to why only that Wemo product. The important distinction of the Insight is that it provides detailed power usage information. I don’t know of a single smart switch that does that, though they should.
