I know this has been mentioned a few times before and Sense says they are working on a merge function/better detection, but in the meantime, what is the best way to handle multiple detected parts for a single device to allow this feature to be deployed easier/better?

  • Edit the devices by adding the Make/Model information to reflect the one model

or

  • Leave all the devices alone to let Sense figure it out on its own

Hey Jeff,

Great question! In a lot of cases, Sense will automatically merge the components when it has seen them operate enough together to be confident they are one device. Until that happens, we recommend renaming the components when necessary and adding make/model information.

New merge functionality is coming in the near term and will definitely help with this situation.
