There are a bunch of people out there like me who want to purchase a second (or third, or fourth, etc…) sense to monitor separate sub panels or even separate locations entirely, and are stuck in the feature backlog for multiple Sense devices on one account.
There’s a company out there now called Whisker Labs that’s now selling a device to consumers called Ting. It doesn’t do most of the things that Sense does, but it does monitor power quality/voltage/arc fault detection of some level, and I just installed one myself.
@test35965 , even though I already had Sense, my insurance company encouraged me and paid me (via free subscription to Ting, plus reduced rates) to install Tings on my two properties. Ting only watches one leg of your house since it plugs into a 120V outlet, though Ting advertises that it can see what’s happening by just that. Theory behind Ting is here:
My view is that both are incredibly useful, and with no subscription for either, very smart additions to a home.
@mgk65 , we use Pure Insurance. They seem to scrutinize properties more aggressively than any other insurance company. They did on-site inspections / assessments of both our primary residence and our vacation place. Hard to say the exact for the Ting since it is bundled in with discounts for having a Phyn water monitor, central alarm system, etc. Here’s their bit on Ting and home fires.
