Ting Fire Sensor vs Sense?

My homeowners insurance provider has a new program that offer a Ting Fire sensor and 3 years of subscription for free to homeowners. My question, is there anything this device does that my Sense doesn’t already do? Are any of those features detections that Sense could add? It is free, so besides a little more electricity use, I’m wondering why I should NOT get it. Thoughts? Comment? Thanks!

If it’s free, why not?

I have both and all Ting does is tell you voltage history. It also will apparently alert you to any “issues” with your home wiring/voltage. Sense is by far more capable and provides the same high/low voltage information in the app or online.

If I understand correctly, Ting works similar to an AFCI breaker for the entire panel.

Now, the question is whether sense can detect arc faults?

I’m guessing Sense could. The real question is whether there is any value to that if you can localize the issue back to a specific circuit.
