@baderdj The fridge image almost exactly matched both my fridge and freezer. I think it is one or the other.
The dehumidifier is hard for me to tell because can’t see the cycle lengths

@samwooly1 does this help?

@baderdj
The signature at startup looks like a compressor to me but the run time seem short for a dehumidifier. Unless there is t mich extraction to take place. A dehumidifier is nothing more than a compact air conditioner.
The wattage if dehumidifiers varies greatly, is your smaller? Like a 30-40?

Do you see right after the spike at startup the ramp up? The spike and ramp is what looks like a compressor to me.

Think good thoughts …

@samwooly1 I think sense might be right about both of the units. I was being a crazy person trying to listen and see if my fridge was running. It’s so quiet though that it was hard to tell. I turned off everything at night and I’m pretty sure sense is right. Then I got to thinking why it didn’t go off when I flipped the breaker… Maybe it didn’t see the fridge ramp down? Or it was missing some electrical signature that showed it turned off?

For the dehumidifier that’s about all it could be. I don’t have any other compressors and when sense says its on it always is. When its off that dehumidifier is well off too. Still not sure why when I adjusted the humidity down 5 points and it turned on sense didn’t see it as coming on.

@kevin1 I’m more wondering if I should return the HS110s I bought. =) Do you think we will know what is up in under 30 days? lol

Maybe its something like they will support something new like a power strip monitor :slight_smile:

How can I get into the know? lol

It may not have recognized your fridge from the breaker flip because the shut down would be different than if the cycle ended. Do you ha e a fridge with front display, that’s how mine is and has a button to hol a few seconds to turn off.

@samwooly1 not sure what went down… But sense did find a water heater and one of my heat pumps today. That made me wonder how long it might take to find the other heat pump. As right now it doesnt matter which one is on. If the one in the attic turns on heat pump is on. If the one in the basement is on well that same sense device is on. :slight_smile:

Also will it find just the air handler fan? or will everything be grouped into heat pump?

I have just one 3 ton heat pump and it has detected only the compressor outside. The other parts of the system I’m waiting for detection for are;
Outdoor fan
Air handler fan

It’s easy to tell if it’s your compressor it’s detected and if it is you can probably narrow it down by looking at the outside units and the stated amperage for RLA.

@samwooly1 do you have to connect the HS110s to wifi first before sense will see them?

You have to fully configure HS110s (including networking and naming them…just follow the directions) and connect them to their app first, then Sense will discover them after a handful of minutes

I did it a little different then @andy described.
I setup them up on WiFi first through the Kasa app. That’s where I named them. Then went to sense and enabled the integration. Within minutes it will discover your plug. Then I think you can have a different name than in the Kasa app. I named mine what was plugged into it, a pump.
If you switch the toggle in sense to control the plug then you will lose the ability to do any scheduling. I have the same plug setup with Kasa, Alexa and sense but have control switched off in sense. I need the scheduling feature.

This is exactly the problem - Sense didn’t see it’s expected “off” signature - forcefully cutting the power to a device provides a different signature to Sense that can cause it to miss an “Off” event. It will eventually figure things out and and show said device as “off”, but that can take some time.

It will reflect in the “Now” (overall wattage consumption) view, but it may not reflect on the device specific view.
