I have an upcoming installation of a pair of Powerwall2 storage units to add to my solar. Could anyone with powerwalls installed (or knowledge of a proper setup using powerwall) provide me with information on best placement of c/t’s in that configuration? Looks like you are set to go with the same kind of configuration most Sense Solar users have. I’m guessing you’ll some weirdness when your battery starts delivering energy when viewing the Power Meter.

Now that you mention it, I’ll find out tonight for sure. I run on battery form 11pm until morning never letting them drain under 20%. I’ll check tonight around midnight and post my findings. Good catch.

I placed my Sense units in a medium size junction box under my gateway. Then added conduit for ac power to the J-box. The sense antenna is mounted in the same junction box. [image2.jpeg] [image1.jpeg]

Also @dennis , I see you have ethernet and another cable connected. Is that second cable going to the RS485 port? If so, what kind of data are you getting from it, and are you polling it just from a terminal connection?

I think what you are seeing is the communication cable back to the powerwalls (2). Cheers

There is a hardwire Ethernet to the gateway and additional current sensors related to my load controller.

I’ve figured out where the main CTs would connect in the gateway, Tesla pulled new mains from the gateway to my house panel. I’m curious if what I show in the picture here is where I need to connect to get solar+PW data? [Gateway2]

@matt2 have you seen this post I did on the clamp locations with a PowerWall? It might solve your issue.
