L1, L2, Where are you?

Here is a photo of my electrical panel. How can I tell (by visual inspection if possible) what breakers are on Phase L1 and what ones are on Phase L2?

@lee, you’ll need to look up your panel/load center to see the internal bus pattern. Usually the two columns of breakers each start at the top with the opposite phases/legs (one L1 and one L2) from the other, then each column alternates as you go down, though 240V breakers will usually be double height and will include one of each leg in the alternation process. Also beware of half-height breakers where two vertically are attached to the same phase/leg. Check the specifics of your load center because some are different.

Thanks, I found this circuit diagram which seems to agree with your analysis.
