I have been using my microwave for a while and sense has been recording it. OK great
Today sense discover a new device and called it “Microwave2”. I turned on the microwave while sense was running. In the device tab I saw BOTH microwave and microwave2 devices running.
Thoughts?
If you do nothing, Sense will probably combine them after several weeks. You can also delete the new one manually if you don’t want to wait.
Thanks @jefflayman I guess I was just curoius as to why it created 2 and why both showed active when I turned it on. I have never seen that happen before.
Thanks for clarifying the question. I agree that seeing two device names triggered by the same physical device is unusual. I think my clothes dryer had that for a brief time, until Sense figured it out and merged the definitions. As for why, it is probably an artifact of machine learning: artificial intelligence sometimes goes “boink.”
