Hi, I’m Kevin Kranen, and I’m a volunteer user moderator for the Sense community.
I originally became a Sense user about 7 years ago because I was curious, as an electrical engineer, about what Sense could actually do and show, especially related to making decisions related to electricity usage. Along my journey with Sense, I was able to gain a far better appreciation of the energy usage and economics of our household which includes solar plus two EVs. I’m also an amateur data scientist, so I really enjoy seeing and understanding Sense in action, so much so that I have taken to trying to educate the Sense community on the ins and outs of getting the most out of their “orange box” - this blog is a great starting point for new users:
My goal and passion is helping motivated community members get the greatest utility out of their Sense, whether it involves understanding what goes on inside the measurements of the Sense monitor or making “sense” of displayed and exported data. I’ll be working with @JamesDrewAtSense to try to keep user discussions informative, positive and interesting.
