Sense can no longer connect to some of my Kasa plugs.
Mostly HS300’s but not all HS300’s and not exclusive to HS300’s. Some stopped reporting on the 13th, others today.
When I try to control (on/off) these plugs through Sense app a popup shows “Unavailable Cannot connect, please try again later”. Other plugs still work fine.
I’ve made zero changes to my network or the effected plugs/strips.
The only change I made was renaming a single (non effected) KP115 from “Ice Maker” to “Keurig” a couple days ago.
All plugs still work using the Kasa & Tapo app.
I’ve rebooted router. I’ve power cycled my monitor (a couple times).
Just a thought… was the firmware updated when you were using kasa app?
I could be going completely in the wrong direction…
Read somewhere on the forum that disabling and then reenabling kasa integration fixed kasa problems before but it was an old post, also… I do not know if it screws up device history, so I’d wait to hear from @JamesDrewAtSense before doing anything…
I have multiple HS300’s not all of them are effected.
It deletes everything. Which is what I’d like to avoid, but will if I have to…
Mind you I do have WAY more Kasa plugs than recommended, but it has never been a problem before. Have 1gig fiber w/ little usage & good network. At first I was thinking maybe there was a monitor update that screwed things up, but if that was the case it dosn’t make sense that only a couple are effected and it didn’t all start at the same time.
We’re doing a massive renovation of our main house so I’m down to one HS300, but it’s still connected. Getting ready to put Sense monitor in our temp house, but waiting on permitting for the 200A upgrade.
I recently got a notice to update the HS300 Firmware to 1.1.2 Build 241220 Rel.171333. I HAVE NOT updated and so far my HS300 is working fine.
I am very reluctant to update any Kasa plug after all the Fubars with the EP25 changes and now Kasa has identity issues too. Is it a Kasa, a TP-link or Tapo and what app do I use.
