This morning I noticed one of my Kasa plugs stuck reporting a constant value of 316W energy usage since 1:10 AM. At the time I noticed it, my total energy usage was not that much! I tried looking in the Kasa app, which reported that plug’s energy signature as 0.03W, confirming that the device was off and that the problem was in Sense. Using the Kasa app, I cycled the plug power, but Sense still reported that plug’s usage as 316W. Flipping the breaker to Sense did get everything working again.
On behalf of Revelo users (see quote below) who will not be able to reset their Sense box by flipping a breaker, I am adding my support to this item. In my case, going to the basement to flip a breaker was not a big deal, yet if I were a Revelo customer, would I have to power down the entire house?
