Noticed that page was not working correctly the other day and wondered the same thing.
The app is a becoming more and more of a half@ssed polished mess lately, with temp fixes, workarounds, stripped useful features, new less useful features, unfixed gui issues, limited os options and nobody really gives a hoot.
It appear more and more with power meter integration the details of what’s running how often is less important than what’s running and how much money is it costing me.
They seem to softening the tech side of it, perhaps they figure the general public will be overwhelmed by all the details and features the app could have. Idk. I’m just not as satisfied with sense as I was several months ago.
I no longer work for Sense. But this has always been a finicky issue. Smartplugs were always a headache and frequently required a lot of troubleshooting just to maintain regular usage. The biggest issues though from the labs side was the username and password appeared correct but were not. (No feedback on if it worked or not) or the plugs were not actually compatible. After that it would usually require me to investigate.
Before I left I was told Sense will still continue to support monitor customers for the life of the monitor - however long that is - but since as of this Friday monitors will no longer be sold that means the focus is going to be meters moving forward. I can’t say it’s likely for Sense to get back into monitors but I’m no longer included.
I bought 2 KP125M plugs (actually box says KP125MP2) today and no issues loading them to Kasa and Apple Home. Then followed your instructions to get them to work in the Sense App. What a PIA.! First had to add the Tapo App and all that entails. I made sure they did have Energy Monitoring. It took quite awhile for Sense to detect them but all said and done it all seems to be working……except one quirk. In the now bubble a plug shows as on but in devices it is off (sometimes). It is intermittent but usually you can control on/off thru Sense.
I don’t use that feature so not issue for me. Now I two apps Kasa and Tapo that do the same thing and not sure which one I like better.
