I guess our dehumidifier is ~10KWh/day

In the summer we run a dehumidifier in the basement. Sense has never detected it as it simply runs 24x7 when plugged in so there’s no on/off/on to watch for. I keep meaning to put it on a Z-Wave controlled outlet and control it sort of like a humidistat via a Z-Wave humidity sensor. But… there’s more important things to do in the summer, like drink .

Anyway, I happened to look back at when I unplugged it for the season. Our always on was almost always ~17-18KWh/day when it is plugged in, then drops to ~7.3KWh/day once it is unplugged.

Saturday was the first full day with it off as I unplugged it late Friday.

That’s a lot of juice!

So is there the prospect that using Sense you can now, next Summer, save for :beers:?
