I have several TP-Link HS110 smart plugs plus energy that I love, BUT— they won’t do something that I would like to do. I would like to be able to say, “Alexa turn on ‘xyz’ for five minutes”. Does anyone have a Smart Plug that will allow me to do that with Alexa?
You can build your own Alexa Skill to do that 
You should be able to setup that sort of thing using IFTTT as well.
Also might work if you wife’s name is Alexa, but results are not in…

Solution found:
I built a routine to turn device on, wait five minutes, then turn device off. It works perfectly. I found today they even sell an echo button which you can program to run the routine when you push the button so you don’t even have to use voice. Many unique possibilities for this.

This is great. Thanks for sharing. I could see utility here for my office space heater that I way too often forget to turn off.
