Has anyone Allowed the newest firmware update to the EP25s?
It is 1.0.14 Build 240424 Rel. 094105
If so did they still work with Sense and Apple Home?
I’m finding it hard to trust Kasa lately & what they still work with.

Do not update your EP25 firmware to v1.10.14. I updated 3 of mine when the rollout came across, and they can no longer connect to Sense. Suspecting the firmware update, I activated a 4th unused plug, kept it on v1.10.10 despite Kasa’s attempts to update it, and integrated it with Sense in seconds. It is the only plug communicating its energy usages to Sense. I have a ticket into TP-Link requesting how to roll the firmware back on my other plugs.
Thanks. I take it you meant to say firmware 1.0.14 and not 1.10.14
If it helps, I have an EP25 (Hardware v1.0) working nicely with Sense that is on v1.0.13 firmware. So you might not need to roll as far back v1.0.10
That is the version I am using as well. 1.0.13
I have 4 EP25s all on firmware version 1.0.14 and I haven’t noticed any issues with Sense.
I am revisiting my original question on the EP25 smart plug. Will the Kasa EP25 continue to work with Sense & Apple Home after updating it to 1.0.14 Build. 240424 Release 094105 ???
The reason I ask is I only got one reply in the positive. The way the KASA app is set up my only option is to update all 8 EP25s at once. I don’t want all of them updated IF it bricks them in the Sense app.
Hi @ron111157,
I decided to brave it and updated my sole EP25 in the house to the new release. Good News ! At least for me it continued working.
More info - starting point was v1.0 hardware and 1.0.13 firmware.
Did the update from the Kasa app:
Good luck - So I would say double check your hardware and firmware version before you update. I can’t guarantee anything, but with the aforementioned versions it worked for me.
@kevin1 Thanks
I took the leap and did the mass update. All seem to be working fine, even in Apple Home. I did double check all of the hardware/firmware of each one before I updated.
I guess Kasa is helping by putting all the same items in a mass update but in this case I prefer to do one at a time. I can update one and if all goes well I am much more comfortable doing the rest.
